BenCab stands for Benedicto Cabrera. Who is a very recognized artist in the country, hailed as a master of the contemporary Philippine art. He has been painting 50 years now and is known as the best-selling painter of his generation of Filipino artists. Even Paul McCartney owns a Benedicto Cabrera painting and he has won a lot of prices and rewards for his pieces of art.
For example, BenCab won in 1992 an award Gawad CCP Sining (Cultural Center of the Philippines Award for the Arts) and in 2006, the Philippine Government conferred upon him the Order of National Artist for Visual Arts In 2009 and the University of the Philippines conferred upon him an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree.
This amazing artist doesn't deserve less than a museum with his name. This amazing building was Designed with modern architecture. The place ’s a four-level museum. It has this high ceiling and the walls are made of glass to let in the beautiful sun natural lights.

In the second and third floor you will find the gallery and on the fourth floor the restaurant and some other installations such as contemporary art or some crafts.
Inside the museum, you can find all kinds of things, such as tabayag (lime containers), hagabi (wooden bench), tribal weapons and native pieces of equipment. The tour will be more than worth it!
