Points to Visit in Baguio- Mines View Park

Baguio is a wonderland and you can only experience it by walking through it...
We have been talking about the Wright Park and The Mansion House before but there are so many places to visit in the city and the Mines View Park is one of the favorites and most visited.

Here we have what we call the perfect weather!
It is never too cold or to hot to go outside and enjoy paradise. But it is best to go in the early morning because there are times of the year by afternoon the fog won’t let you see the view. When you enter to the park you will find native handicrafts for souvenirs such as silver jewelry, clothes, wood carvings and more. But you can also try some food on your way in. Take it slow enjoy your snack while you feel the beauty of nature.

The sight is simple but breathtaking!
Then this location has an observation deck below a winding stone-covered stairway near the entrance. There you can see the amazing copper and gold mines of Beguet Corporation embraced by a big green mountain and a spectacular panoramic view of the Amburayan Valley. You can rent binoculars, find one of the plenty places to sit and wonder or even ask one of the local photographers to take you a pic.

If you dedícate one complete day here you can also visit:
  • The Good Shepherd Convent and buy from the Belgian nuns. They make the best strawberry and ube jams or some peanut and cashew brittle.
  • After that, you can go into the mines known as Balatoc Mines located about 16km from the city. The mines are no longer operational but there are tour guides available for about 2 hours.

It doesn't matter if you want to learn about mines, eat and buy souvenirs or just prepare a picnic day with the family, please don’t leave the Philippines without visiting Mines View Park.
